To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button. The ladder retracts rung by rung, and your fingers stay clear.
The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, and the non-slip feet grip on tiles, concrete and paving.
For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Lean it at an angle of about 75°. The foot of the ladder is then a quarter of the resting height away from the wall.

Yes, I did go for the black one partly because of the looks. I'd already picked the size beforehand, but when it came to colour I simply thought this one looked nicer. It's now here in the garage and has already been used several times. I get on fine with extending it, though I was still a bit slower the first time I closed it up. It suits the small jobs I do around the house. I've given back the old borrowed ladder and I'm glad to have one of my own now.
Ordered black, got black. Looks good, not a mark on it. Does the job!
You can see the dark finish better in the close-up photo. It arrived without any noticeable scratches. I get on fine with the buttons, after using it a few times it already feels familiar.
The bottom arrived intact as well. Had a look and I'm happy.
This is how it was lying when I loaded it, secured afterwards of course. Very handy for taking along now and then. Already used it at my family's and glad I'm no longer setting off with a long, rigid ladder.

We haven't got much space. The 3.2 m one fits here in the free spot by the shelving. I wanted a ladder of my own without having to rearrange the cellar for it. Worked out, would go for it again.

First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available for setting up the ladder. This ladder is 3.20 m long when extended. That is not the height at which you stand or work: leaning at an angle of about 75°, it does not reach as high as its length, and the top rungs are not meant to be stood on.

This ladder weighs 9.5 kg and is 91 cm long when retracted. That makes it easier to store and transport. The width of 45.8 cm applies to the extended ladder. Whether it fits in your car boot, cupboard or storage space also depends on its width and depth when retracted, and on the stabiliser bar. So measure up beforehand.
At 9.5 kg, the retracted ladder can easily be carried and set up by most users on their own. How easy it is also depends on your strength and practice.
As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place. To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button, and the ladder then retracts rung by rung. Follow the user instructions as you do so and keep your fingers out of the area between the rungs.

What matters is how it is set up: firm, level ground, a leaning angle of about 75° and a resting point strong enough to take the load. Only use the ladder in the way the instructions allow. The stabiliser bar does not compensate for soft or sloping ground.

Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.
This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.
The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.
Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.
You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
