We both get on well with the ladder. The first joint project is already done. The strap could be more comfortable for our liking.
Was really pleased when the first job was finished.
Was on hand for the first jobs in the flat. The size we chose is right for what we have planned.
Very happy with it around the house so far. After the job I can put it away easily. For me it's not quite ideal to carry yet.
Very handy for the trips to my parents'. I don't have to empty the whole car for it.
Very handy for the odd jobs around here. I haven't needed any help from customer service with it yet. You do feel the weight when carrying it to the next room.
Very handy for the little jobs outside. Glad of the compact size when carrying it away.
Used it several times now, and the good impression holds.
Unpacking was uneventful, everything looked sound. I'm looking forward to the next jobs with it.
Unfamiliar at first
Took some getting used to, but it's going well now. By the second use a lot was already clear.
Took a quiet moment to go through the steps properly.
Worth the wait
Took a little while. Happy with the ladder. I thought the time frame they gave was rather generous.
Stored in the cellar
This is where the 6.2 m one stands between jobs. For storage, the telescopic design was my reason for buying. It's noticeably heavy to carry, I knew that. It's the right decision for what we need and I'm happy so far.
Big ladder in the van
This is how the 6.2 m one lay when loading, it was secured afterwards. It's a fair old lump when you lift it. Closed up it fits nicely in the car though, which is exactly what I wanted.
They were friendly to deal with, thanks for that. After that I could order at my leisure. The first reply was still fairly general, the second one was then helpful.
The version matches what I ordered. A straightforward delivery, as hoped.
The tracking number came by email, worked fine. Could read the notification on my phone as well.
Comes along in the car
The short size makes it easier for me to load.
The short shape suits our house better. I can now open the door all the way. The old ladder was fine in itself, but in our house it was simply always in the way somewhere. That's why this time I specifically looked at the size when it's closed up. Since the new one arrived, the passageway has been clear again. It suits my occasional jobs too, so switching was the right move. I had to practise using it a bit first.
The service was friendly after delivery as well. Since then I've been getting on better with using it.
The sections extend smoothly for me. For the jobs so far, it's been comfortable to handle.
The right ladder was now simply there to hand.
The right ladder arrived. I didn't have to chase anything up. With another tool I once had a small part missing, and that turned out to be more of a nuisance than expected. So these days I check straight away when unpacking. I didn't have to raise anything this time. Once I'd got to grips with how it works, I could start on the job I had planned.
The reply was something I could actually work with. I then placed the order in my own time.
The purchase has been a good fit at my parents'. We all tried folding it down together straight away.
The product doesn't feel cheaply put together. Even so, I wouldn't call it exactly cheap.
No extra delivery charges
The price in the basket was fine by me. The box was bigger than it needed to be, I thought.
The parts delivered look decent. I found no damage on any of the visible parts. One sticker could have been put on a bit straighter.
Arrived on time
The parcel arrived in time for the weekend. The ladder reached me with no transit damage.
The order felt good overall. Nothing to complain about after unpacking. Only the delivery window could have been a bit more precise for me.
Joined the renovation
The new ladder in the room we're doing up at the moment. The photo shows it retracted after being put away. I bought it for several jobs around the house and have already used it. Got the hang of using it, build quality decent, good buy so far.
The locking mechanism seems properly made. It doesn't feel like a toy to me.
Right for the house
The little jobs around the house are finally getting done. The ladder has already been used several times. When you're moving it about a lot, it could be a bit lighter.
The ladder's already got a fair few jobs behind it. Closing it up works just as it did at the start. I wanted to hold off on the review until the ladder had been out of the box more than once. I've now done several small jobs and I'm still happy. Handling it has become more familiar over time. I can't say anything yet about years of use, but the first few weeks have gone well for me.
The ladder strikes me as solid.
The ladder really does get used in our house. So far I haven't needed to get in touch about any fault.
The ladder really does get used here.
The ladder is what I expected from the order.
The ladder is now part of my garden kit. I can get the folded ladder through the door easily.
The ladder is now at my father's. The previous ladder was a nuisance to store.
The ladder is a sensible addition to our tools. After use it's quickly stowed away again.
Renovation under way
The ladder has found its place in the renovation work. I use it more often than I first thought I would. I'd have liked less plastic when unpacking it.
The ladder gets surprisingly small after the job. After the decorating it was quickly out of the way again.
The ladder fits in well by our tool shelves. I no longer have to leave it standing in the hallway. I don't need the ladder every day. That's exactly why I wanted something that's sensibly stored in the meantime. Our cellar is already pretty full. With its compact shape there was still a spot to be found that I can get to easily. Day to day, that matters more to me than I'd thought.
The ladder fits in nicely alongside my tools in the load space. I can get at the ladder easily to secure it.
The information about the parcel was helpful. The ladder arrived just as ordered.
The hunt for a ladder is finally over. The old arrangement was awkward every time. I'd just like a bit less weight when carrying it.
The format is good for our narrow doorways. It's when carrying it through the house that I really notice the advantage.
First impression is good
The first look-over was positive. The packaging opened up neatly. There was an awful lot of tape in the way when I opened it.

01Locking
Every rung individually locked.
As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. A visible indicator shows you before you climb that everything is secure.
How it works
To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button. The ladder retracts rung by rung, and your fingers stay clear.
02Stability
Stability starts at the base.
The widened stabiliser bar with rubber feet counteracts sideways tipping. The brushed aluminium stiles keep their shape even when fully extended.
Setting up correctly
For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Lean it at an angle of about 75°. The foot of the ladder is then a quarter of the resting height away from the wall.

Chose big, stores well
I chose the 6.2 m deliberately and wasn't expecting a light parcel. For the distances I carry it from the tool room to where I'm working, that's OK. Here it is in the garage after use. The first job went well and I can manage the locks. What mattered to me was still being able to store such a long ladder sensibly. That works for us, and so I'm happy with my decision.

The big one's here
The big 6.2 m one is here! Unpacked, nothing damaged. Very happy for now.

Photographed up close
Here you can see the rungs and the top hooks more closely. I had a look over everything after unpacking. I can manage the locks, and the ladder has already been used by now too. Happy with the order.

Solid first impression
And here from underneath. All in one piece, looks decent.

My own ladder for the house
The big ladder now has its place in the shed. I'd previously done my jobs on the house with a borrowed one. I'm getting on well with the new model so far. Glad I finally bought one.

What ladder length do I need for my job?
First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available for setting up the ladder. This ladder is 6.20 m long when extended. That is not the height at which you stand or work: leaning at an angle of about 75°, it does not reach as high as its length, and the top rungs are not meant to be stood on.
Which length is right also depends on the work you are doing and how the ladder is set up. If in doubt, send us your measurements and a photo via live chat.
How heavy is the ladder, and how big is it when retracted?
This ladder weighs 18.3 kg and is 1.76 m long when retracted. That makes it easier to store and transport. The width of 45.8 cm applies to the extended ladder. Whether it fits in your car boot, cupboard or storage space also depends on its width and depth when retracted, and on the roof hooks and the stabiliser bar. So measure up beforehand.
Can I carry, extend and retract the ladder on my own?
At 18.3 kg, this ladder is noticeably heavier. Many users can carry it on their own, but positioning the ladder at its full extended length of 6.20 m and hooking on the roof hooks is demanding. A second person is a real help here. How easy it is also depends on your strength and practice.
As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place. To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button, and the ladder then retracts rung by rung. Follow the user instructions as you do so and keep your fingers out of the area between the rungs.
How stable is the ladder when fully extended?
Set up correctly, it stands securely. The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, the non-slip feet grip on firm surfaces such as tiles, concrete and paving, and each rung is locked individually. With the removable roof hooks, you can hook on the top of the ladder where the instructions provide for it.
What matters is how it is set up: firm, level ground, a leaning angle of about 75° and a resting point strong enough to take the load. Only use the ladder in the way the instructions allow. The stabiliser bar does not compensate for soft or sloping ground.
How can I tell that the ladder is locked correctly?
As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. A visible indicator on the locking mechanism shows you before you climb whether it is secure. Before every climb, check the locking mechanisms of all the sections in use and inspect the rungs, stiles and feet for damage.
If a locking mechanism appears faulty or you are unsure, do not use the ladder and contact our customer service team.
Do tools and clothing count towards the maximum load?
Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.
Which standard does this model meet?
This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.
The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.
Can I return the ladder if it isn’t right for me?
Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.
You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
