not a pro, but I get on fine with it. would buy the same one again
no more ladder chaos in the hallway. the buttons are a bit fiddly with gloves on
works for me
nice when everything just works for once
space again at last
much easier to put away once it's closed up. just right for our small cellar. somehow everything always ends up in the same room at ours and eventually you can't get at anything. so I wanted something more compact, for the ladder at least. worked out, it's now ready to hand and still isn't in the way. to use it I just pull it out without having to shift three other things first.
made a good impression straight out of the box. the feet look decent too
loading it is so much better than before. it gets strapped down for transport of course
Makes a good impression
laid the big one out on the blanket. all arrived in good nick, nothing to moan about so far
ladder received, happy for now. would order here again
haven't spotted any flaws, pleased with it. the parts are neatly finished. just a bit too much packaging around it
happy with my order
handy to take with you, I like it
had a question, got a friendly answer. that's how i like customer service
had a few offers open, ended up sticking with this one. the build quality is decent in my view
got a regular corner for it now. makes tidying up a lot easier
fits in my car, that was important to me. a good solution for my trips. a bag with it would have been handy
finally got on with the job. the size is right for what I need. one more picture showing how to use it would've been good
dropped them a quick message and then everything was clear. my question actually got answered. wasn't sure about the right size and didn't want to just order any old thing. after the reply I had a clearer idea and then made my mind up. first time I used it, it was right for my job. glad I asked and didn't spend weeks more comparing.
couldn't find any damage, all good so far. going to need it for the next project
can't say anything bad so far. the old one was a lot bulkier. always used my brother-in-law's before, which meant driving over and taking it back every single time. now I've got one at mine and can start whenever I have time. was long overdue. getting on fine with using it, though at the start I obviously had to work out how it goes.
bought for the house and no regrets. tidied away again quickly afterwards
arrived as announced, all good. would order here again. the box was pretty squashed at one corner
already taken it over to my parents'. tools still fit in next to it
already had a quick go with it. you do notice the weight when carrying it
actually gets used in our house too
You notice it when cleaning, too.
You can tell you're carrying a ladder.
When carrying it through, I don't have to watch so closely where the end is. Once it's folded down I can get it into the house without a fuss. We live in an older house that wasn't exactly built with space to spare. With the rigid ladder I really had to manoeuvre in some places. With the new one, the short length makes a lot of things easier. The weight's still there of course, but at least I'm no longer catching every door frame with a long end. On the narrow stairs I still have to manoeuvre carefully.
When I extend it, I can see what's clicked into place. After getting to know it a bit, handling it became familiar.
Went for this model deliberately after comparing for quite a while. The first jobs have been done with it. Some of the details were a bit scattered around the page.
Renovating carries on
We're doing the place up bit by bit at the moment. The ladder comes along to whichever room we're working on and then gets put aside again. I can manage moving it about, though it's not something to carry along with two other things at once. A good buy so far.
We found it easy to work out how to use it.
We both get on well with the ladder.
Wasn't sure between two sizes, the advice helped.
Size is right
Was torn between the two multi-purpose models and sent in a question. For what we had planned I went for the 5 m and I'm happy with the choice. Folded up, it fits next to the shelving in the cellar.
For the new flat
Was on hand for the first jobs in the flat. We're happy with the order so far.
Was looking forward to the parcel and I'm not disappointed. Better to buy a proper one once than keep on borrowing.
Right for the house
Very happy with it around the house so far. The ladder has already been used several times.
Very handy for the odd jobs around here.
Very handy for the little jobs outside. I got the hang of using it quickly. I'd have liked bigger illustrations in the paperwork.
Using it so far has been straightforward.
Unpacking was pleasantly straightforward this time. The ladder goes well with the tools I already have.
Unpacked it and got a good impression straight away. The build quality is fine by me too. The surface isn't completely immune to dirt, of course.
Tried it out and it gets my approval. The size suits my purposes.
Took some getting used to, but it's going well now. Closing it up now goes much more smoothly.
Unfamiliar at first
Took a quiet moment to go through the steps properly. For use around the home, I get on well with it.
They were friendly to deal with, thanks for that. The conversation left no question unanswered.
Renovation under way
There's plenty to do in the new house. Once I've finished for the day, the ladder goes back in the room next door. The pictures in the instructions were too small for me at first.
The way through now stays clear.
The version matches what I ordered. I didn't have to chase anything up.
The tracking link was helpful. The first time, I had to open the link again.

01Hinges
Converted in seconds.
The hinges click into place and can be locked. Switching between positions takes just a few seconds.
Before you climb
The locking mechanisms and hinges have an indicator that shows they have engaged. Check them before every climb.
02Stability
Stability starts at the base.
The removable stabiliser bar widens the footprint on the ground, even as an A-frame ladder.
Setting up correctly
For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Before you climb, check that all the hinges have clicked into place.

Good addition to the toolkit
I'd had my eye on the smaller multi-purpose one at first and then went for the 5 m after all. We've got various jobs to do on the house and didn't want to keep borrowing one every time. The size has suited us so far. You do notice the weight when carrying it, though I don't walk far with it. Here it is in the garage after use. The nice thing is that it doesn't permanently take up as much room there as a long rigid ladder.

All there
Parcel's here, big multi-purpose ladder inside. Nothing missing. Looking forward to getting started!

Had a closer look
Operating it was new to me. I took my time looking over the hinges and buttons and trying them out first. It's going well now. A close-up photo would have helped me when I was comparing, so I'm uploading one too.

I like the build quality
No damaged feet, everything in order at the bottom. Happy with the condition it arrived in.

Taken along in the van
Been out and about with the 5 m ladder in the car. Photo's from when I was loading it. The compact shape saves me a lot of faffing about, though you do notice the weight when lifting it, of course. For my occasional trips it works very well.

Now in my own shed
At last I don't have to fetch my brother's ladder for our jobs any more. Here's the new one in the shed after being put away. The first job's already done, glad I bought it.

What ladder length do I need for my job?
First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available. This ladder is 5.00 m long as a leaning ladder and 2.50 m high as an A-frame ladder. Neither is the height at which you stand or work: the top rungs are not meant to be stood on, and when leaning, the ladder does not reach as high as its length.
The right position depends on the work you are doing. If in doubt, send us your measurements and a photo via live chat.
How heavy is the ladder, and how big is it when retracted?
This ladder weighs 15.5 kg and is 1.05 m long when retracted. That makes it easier to store and transport. The width of 45.8 cm applies to the extended ladder. Whether it fits in your car boot, cupboard or storage space also depends on its width and depth when retracted, and on the stabiliser bar. So measure up beforehand.
Can I carry, extend and retract the ladder on my own?
At 15.5 kg, many users can carry the retracted ladder on their own. How easy it is, however, also depends on your strength and practice. When you convert the ladder, the hinges click into place and can be locked. To do this, place the ladder on a clear, level surface.
Extend, convert and retract the ladder as described in the user instructions. As you do so, keep your fingers out of the area where rungs and hinges come together.
How stable is the ladder when fully extended?
Set up correctly, it stands securely. The removable stabiliser bar widens the footprint on the ground, even as an A-frame ladder. The hinges click into place and can be locked.
What matters is how it is set up: firm, level ground and only the positions that the instructions allow. As a leaning ladder, lean it at an angle of about 75° against a surface strong enough to take the load. As an A-frame ladder, it must be fully opened, with the hinges clicked into place. The stabiliser bar does not compensate for soft or sloping ground.
How can I tell that the ladder is locked correctly?
The locking mechanisms and hinges have an indicator that shows whether they have engaged. Before every climb, check the locking mechanisms of all the sections in use and inspect the rungs, stiles and feet for damage. After every change of position, also check that all the hinges have clicked into place.
If a locking mechanism appears faulty or you are unsure, do not use the ladder and contact our customer service team.
Do tools and clothing count towards the maximum load?
Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.
Which standard does this model meet?
This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.
The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.
Can I return the ladder if it isn’t right for me?
Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.
You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
