As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. You can check the yellow indicator at a glance.
To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button. The ladder retracts rung by rung, and your fingers stay clear.
The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, and the non-slip feet grip on tiles, concrete and paving.
For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Lean it at an angle of about 75°. The foot of the ladder is then a quarter of the resting height away from the wall.

The buttons are easy for me to reach. Took a close-up photo of the rungs because I'd wanted to know beforehand what they look like. I get on reasonably well with extending and retracting it by now.

This is how the collapsed ladder sits in the car when I'm loading up. It gets secured afterwards. I take it along to various small jobs and find the size good for that. The weight is there, but I don't miss the bulky end of my old ladder.

Here it is in the cellar next to the shelving. I needed a lot more free space for the old ladder. I use the new one when I need it and can put it away tidily again afterwards. I'm happy with the build quality so far.
We're nowhere near finished with the room, but the ladder has already been a help. I mostly carry on with it a bit after work. So it's good when the tools are there and I don't have to go and sort something out first. After work the ladder gets closed up again, the photo was taken just as I'd finished for the day. The 3.8 m is right for my jobs and I'm used to how it works by now. Not a bad buy so far.

First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available for setting up the ladder. This ladder is 3.80 m long when extended. That is not the height at which you stand or work: leaning at an angle of about 75°, it does not reach as high as its length, and the top rungs are not meant to be stood on.

Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.
This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.
The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.
Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.
You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
