Was really pleased when the first job was finished. Now the ladder's there ready whenever I need it.

Was just right for the first jobs. I find it comfortable to handle. They're not huge projects, but there's always some little thing that needs doing. I used to have to get hold of a ladder first. Now I've got the right one at home. That's the real difference for me. After a few weeks I can say I haven't regretted buying it so far.

Very handy for the odd jobs around here. My experience so far has been good across the board.

Very handy for the little jobs outside. That's plenty for my occasional jobs. The retaining strap could be a bit wider for my liking.

After a few weeks

Used it several times now, and the good impression holds. The ladder keeps getting regular use.

Unpacked it and got a good impression straight away. The pictures in the shop gave a fair impression.

Took some getting used to, but it's going well now. My first impression was positive overall.

Took a quiet moment to go through the steps properly. By the second use a lot was already clear.

Took a little while. Happy with the ladder. The size suits what I want to do.

Took a little while. Happy with the ladder. The order was meant for a later project.

They were friendly to deal with, thanks for that. Didn't feel like I was being fobbed off.

No more bulky thing

There's space left over for other tools again. I had to practise using it a bit first.

Renovation under way

There's plenty to do in the new house. Not everything has to be left standing in the passageway all the time.

The way it operates suits my jobs around the house.

The version matches what I ordered. Checking it over after unpacking was quick.

Parcel easy to track

The tracking number came by email, worked fine. Didn't have to message anyone about it.

The start of the project didn't have to be put back because of the ladder. I'd picked out the right size beforehand.

The size was right for the jobs I had. Over longer distances the weight is a bit much for me to carry.

The size suits my purposes.

The short shape suits our house better. It's between jobs in particular that I like the idea.

The purchase went through without any trouble. Confirmation came by email afterwards.

The purchase came at just the right time for the work we had on.

The parts delivered look decent. The packaging opened up neatly.

The parcel arrived in time for the weekend. On my next day off I could get started straight away. I didn't need the ladder straight away, but wanted to know roughly when I could expect it. The delivery info was enough for that. After unpacking it I tried it out in the garage first. So far everything's fine, including the size I went for.

The packaging looked worse than the contents. I was relieved once I'd unpacked it.

The order worked out well for me. Waiting for it to be dispatched tested my patience a bit.

The order was fulfilled correctly. Everything worked the first time I used it.

Small jobs done

The next little project is already waiting. When I'm moving it about a lot it gets a bit heavy for me.

The new mechanism soon didn't feel so unfamiliar. A few more close-up pictures would be nice.

Finally in its own place

The new 3.2 m one now lives in the shed and gets fetched when needed. Before, I always had to borrow one first. The first jobs went well, I'm happy!

The model is the version I chose.

The long ladder was always in the way. Storage is a lot less hassle with it.

Keeping an eye on the locks

The locks are easy for me to see. Closing it up is now part of the routine.

The locking mechanism seems properly made. After several uses, everything works as it did at the start. The first time I used it I had to look up the order of the steps again.

The little jobs around the house are finally getting done.

The ladder was here before we wanted to get started. How to handle it was quick to grasp.

The ladder suits what I intended to use it for.

The ladder really does get used in our house. The mechanism behaves just as it did at the start. A better handle would be my one bigger wish.

The ladder looks decent and is easy to operate. The ladder is what I expected from the order.

The ladder is now part of my garden kit. First use went without any difficulty. We don't have a big tool store right by the garden. I take along the things I need for the job in hand and put them away again afterwards. The collapsible design is nice for that. The ladder hasn't let me down on the jobs so far, and I no longer have to borrow one every time.

The ladder is now at my father's. After use there's space in the side room again.

The ladder is a sensible addition to our tools. I get on fine with the size.

The ladder gets surprisingly small after the job. I still have to take my time a bit when closing it.

Found a spot in the cellar

The ladder fits in well by our tool shelves. For occasional use, it does the job for us. I'd like an extra place to grip it.

The ladder fits in nicely alongside my tools in the load space.

The ladder came at just the right time for my to-do list. The right ladder was now simply there to hand.

The ladder arrived with no visible scratches.

The information about the parcel was helpful. The parcel has now arrived complete. The tracking on its own hadn't been clear to me before that.

The idea was new to me, but it's fine now. I find the ladder easy to operate.

The format is good for our narrow doorways. No long end constantly knocking into things.

Telescopic ladder 3.2 m Pro: rungs with side-mounted locking mechanisms

01Locking

Every rung individually locked.

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. The yellow indicator is visible before every climb.

How it works

To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button. The ladder retracts rung by rung, and your fingers stay clear.

Telescopic ladder 3.2 m Pro: stabiliser bar and non-slip feet

02Stability

Stability starts at the base.

The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, and the non-slip feet grip on tiles, concrete and paving.

Setting up correctly

For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Lean it at an angle of about 75°. The foot of the ladder is then a quarter of the resting height away from the wall.

Details as hoped

Here's another shot from closer up. The buttons are easy to reach and I can manage the individual steps fine. I'd imagined it would be more complicated. Happy with the 3.2 m one.

No nasty surprises

The bottom ends look fine. No damage in transit, thankfully.

Tools can come too

Photographed while loading up. The ladder fits in alongside the toolboxes and is quickly strapped down afterwards. For the trips to my father's, that makes a difference. Would go for the same size again.

Practical for us

Our cellar really doesn't look like a tool catalogue, but that's where the ladder has to go. The old one was always standing in the passageway. For the new one I've found a spot next to the shelving that I can get to easily. The 3.2 m is enough for the jobs I've got planned and I can manage operating it. I just wanted a decent ladder of my own that isn't a nuisance between jobs. That's worked out well here.

Practical for us
Kathleen E.

Already used

Bought for the renovation and already used several times. I've got the hang of retracting it now. Photo from the end of the working day, still plenty to do in the room, but the ladder was the right fit at any rate.

No regrets about buying

Carried it through, put it down for a moment, took a photo. Far less of a faff than with my old one.

Frequently asked questions

What you should know before you climb up.

Is delivery free, and is there a 5-year warranty?

Yes, delivery within the UK is free, with no minimum order value. The estimated delivery time is 3 to 5 working days. You will receive an order tracking link by email.

The ladder also comes with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing and material defects. In the event of a warranty claim, we will repair or replace your ladder. There is no need to register; simply keep your invoice. Our customer service team will help you in English by email or via live chat. This does not affect your statutory warranty rights.

What ladder length do I need for my job?

First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available for setting up the ladder. This ladder is 3.20 m long when extended. That is not the height at which you stand or work: leaning at an angle of about 75°, it does not reach as high as its length, and the top rungs are not meant to be stood on.

Which length is right also depends on the work you are doing and how the ladder is set up. If in doubt, send us your measurements and a photo via live chat.

How heavy is the ladder, and how big is it when retracted?

This ladder weighs 9.3 kg and is 91 cm long when retracted. That makes it easier to store and transport. The width of 45.8 cm applies to the extended ladder. Whether it fits in your car boot, cupboard or storage space also depends on its width and depth when retracted, and on the stabiliser bar. So measure up beforehand.

Can I carry, extend and retract the ladder on my own?

At 9.3 kg, the retracted ladder can easily be carried and set up by most users on their own. How easy it is also depends on your strength and practice.

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place. To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button, and the ladder then retracts rung by rung. Follow the user instructions as you do so and keep your fingers out of the area between the rungs.

How stable is the ladder when fully extended?

Set up correctly, it stands securely. The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, the non-slip feet grip on firm surfaces such as tiles, concrete and paving, and each rung is locked individually.

What matters is how it is set up: firm, level ground, a leaning angle of about 75° and a resting point strong enough to take the load. Only use the ladder in the way the instructions allow. The stabiliser bar does not compensate for soft or sloping ground.

How can I tell that the ladder is locked correctly?

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. The yellow indicator shows you before you climb whether it has locked into place. Before every climb, check the locking mechanisms of all the sections in use and inspect the rungs, stiles and feet for damage.

If a locking mechanism appears faulty or you are unsure, do not use the ladder and contact our customer service team.

Do tools and clothing count towards the maximum load?

Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.

Which standard does this model meet?

This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.

The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.

Can I return the ladder if it isn’t right for me?

Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.

You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
