ladder received, happy for now. already given it a quick try

it's already been worth buying for me

haven't spotted any flaws, pleased with it. going to need it for the next project

handy to take with you, I like it. it was more of a fiddle with the old ladder. a padded handle is the one thing I'm still missing

for me the value for money is right. better than borrowing one all the time

fits in my car, that mattered to me

arrived safely

everything went fine with the delivery

dropped them a quick message and then everything was clear. the reply was easy to understand. just had to wait a bit for the first reply

contact was good, can't say otherwise. found them pleasant to deal with

came through the journey fine. it's already had its first try. the tape was pretty stubborn

bought for the house and no regrets. getting on fine with using it. one more picture showing how to use it would've been good

been used a few times already. tidied away again quickly afterwards

arrived as announced, all good. packaging was fine too. I didn't need it urgently, so I was relaxed about waiting for the parcel. since then I've managed to do the first little job with it. extending it is no bother and afterwards it's quickly put away again. a good buy for me so far, we'll see how it holds up in the long run.

comes with me

already taken it over to my parents'. glad i bought it

You stay nicely in control when operating it. After getting to know it a bit, handling it became familiar.

You can tell you're carrying a ladder. Would go for the same size again for my needs.

Would buy it again for the jobs I do. In the end, shape and handling mattered more to me.

When loading up there's still usable space left beside it. The tool bag can come along too.

When it comes to putting it away, I don't regret the switch for a second. You notice it when cleaning, too.

Well explained, that helped me. A photo in the reply would have made it even clearer.

We'd make the same choice again.

Wasn't sure between two sizes, the advice helped. I didn't want to buy a model bigger than I needed. A direct size comparison on the site would have helped me a bit more.

Was really pleased when the first job was finished. I've no trouble using it.

Was on hand for the first jobs in the flat. The compact size was important to us there.

Was looking forward to the parcel and I'm not disappointed. The size suits what I want to do.

Was just right for the first jobs.

Very happy with how little space it takes up.

Very handy for the trips to my parents'. I manage fine unloading it as well.

Used it several times now, and the good impression holds. Using it feels familiar by now. I wanted to hold off on the review until the ladder had been out of the box more than once. I've now done several small jobs and I'm still happy. Handling it has become more familiar over time. I can't say anything yet about years of use, but the first few weeks have gone well for me.

Unpacking was uneventful, everything looked sound.

Unpacking was pleasantly straightforward this time. The first use went fine as well.

Unpacked it and got a good impression straight away. Would choose this version again.

Tried it out and it gets my approval. I get on fine with how it works.

Took some getting used to, but it's going well now. I don't have to think about it for long any more.

Details of the black ladder

Took a closer shot of the rungs and the top section. The finish looks tidy, no obvious flaws on mine. After the first few goes I get on well with the buttons and retracting it.

Friendly help

They were friendly to deal with, thanks for that. They actually dealt with the question I'd asked.

There's always something or other that needs doing at ours.

The tracking number came by email, worked fine. The process was easy for me to follow.

The start of the project didn't have to be put back because of the ladder. A narrower delivery window would have been even better for my planning.

The short shape suits our house better. There's space left over for other tools again.

The short length helps in our stairwell. Getting it up from the cellar is easier to manage.

The sections extend smoothly for me. The control buttons are where I can reach them easily. The lettering could be bigger for my eyes.

Right for the house

The right purchase for what we need.

The right ladder arrived. The small parts were all there too.

The reply was helpful and not pushy. I then completed the order myself.

The reply helped me make my decision. After that I could order at my leisure.

The purchase came at just the right time for the work we had on. I use it more often than I first thought I would.

The price in the basket was fine by me. I'm happy with how the order was handled.

The parts fit together neatly. The product matches the first impression I got from the shop.

Found a spot in the cellar

The other boxes are still easy to get to.

Telescopic ladder 6.2 m Black Pro: rungs with side-mounted locking mechanisms

01Locking

Every rung individually locked.

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. A visible indicator shows you before you climb that everything is secure.

How it works

To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button. The ladder retracts rung by rung, and your fingers stay clear.

Telescopic ladder 6.2 m Black Pro: stabiliser bar and non-slip feet

02Stability

Stability starts at the base.

The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, and the non-slip feet grip on tiles, concrete and paving.

Setting up correctly

For safe working, the ladder must stand on firm, level ground. Lean it at an angle of about 75°. The foot of the ladder is then a quarter of the resting height away from the wall.

Went for the black 6.2 m

The black 6.2 m one is now in my garage. I wanted this model for my jobs and had factored in the weight. Now that I've got to know it I get on fine with it. I like the look of it as well.

No damage in transit

Checked the bottom as well, nothing arrived broken. Glad everything's as it should be.

Can be taken along

The black ladder being loaded into the car. Of course it was strapped down afterwards. Because of the weight, lifting it isn't something you do without thinking, but the collapsed shape is practical for transport. That's exactly what mattered to me.

Finally in my own shed

Here's my new 6.2 m ladder. Until now I always had to get hold of one for the bigger jobs. Now I've got the right one here myself and can manage how it works. It was a sensible purchase for me.

Big model, permanent spot

At first I wondered whether I really needed the 6.2 m one. After weighing up the jobs I have to do I went for it and am happy so far. It's found its permanent spot in the cellar, shown here in the photo. The weight is very noticeable when carrying it, you should be aware of that beforehand. It's fine for me because I don't walk long distances with it. I've got to know how to handle it and the first few uses went well. I like the black look too.

Already used at ours

Photo after clearing up in the room. The ladder is meant for various jobs around the house and has already been in use. It's no lightweight for carrying around a lot, I'd allowed for that. I get on fine with handling it.

Frequently asked questions

What you should know before you climb up.

Is delivery free, and is there a 5-year warranty?

Yes, delivery within the UK is free, with no minimum order value. The estimated delivery time is 3 to 5 working days. You will receive an order tracking link by email.

The ladder also comes with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing and material defects. In the event of a warranty claim, we will repair or replace your ladder. There is no need to register; simply keep your invoice. Our customer service team will help you in English by email or via live chat. This does not affect your statutory warranty rights.

What ladder length do I need for my job?

First measure the height of the spot you want to reach and the space available for setting up the ladder. This ladder is 6.20 m long when extended. That is not the height at which you stand or work: leaning at an angle of about 75°, it does not reach as high as its length, and the top rungs are not meant to be stood on.

Which length is right also depends on the work you are doing and how the ladder is set up. If in doubt, send us your measurements and a photo via live chat.

How heavy is the ladder, and how big is it when retracted?

This ladder weighs 18.5 kg and is 1.76 m long when retracted. That makes it easier to store and transport. The width of 45.8 cm applies to the extended ladder. Whether it fits in your car boot, cupboard or storage space also depends on its width and depth when retracted, and on the roof hooks and the stabiliser bar. So measure up beforehand.

Can I carry, extend and retract the ladder on my own?

At 18.5 kg, this ladder is noticeably heavier. Many users can carry it on their own, but leaning the extended 6.20 m into position and hooking on the roof hooks is demanding. A second person is a real help here. How easy it is also depends on your strength and practice.

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place. To retract it, release the locking mechanism at the push of a button, and the ladder then retracts rung by rung. Follow the user instructions as you do so and keep your fingers out of the area between the rungs.

How stable is the ladder when fully extended?

Set up correctly, it stands securely. The removable stabiliser bar widens the base, the non-slip feet grip on firm surfaces such as tiles, concrete and paving, and each rung is locked individually. With the removable roof hooks, you can hook on the top of the ladder where the instructions provide for it.

What matters is how it is set up: firm, level ground, a leaning angle of about 75° and a resting point strong enough to take the load. Only use the ladder in the way the instructions allow. The stabiliser bar does not compensate for soft or sloping ground.

How can I tell that the ladder is locked correctly?

As you extend the ladder, each rung locks into place with its own locking mechanism. A visible indicator on the locking mechanism shows you before you climb whether it is secure. Before every climb, check the locking mechanisms of all the sections in use and inspect the rungs, stiles and feet for damage.

If a locking mechanism appears faulty or you are unsure, do not use the ladder and contact our customer service team.

Do tools and clothing count towards the maximum load?

Yes. The maximum load of 150 kg applies to everything combined: your body weight, clothing, shoes, tools and any materials you take up with you. So it is not 150 kg for the person plus the tools on top. Keep within this limit every time you use the ladder.

Which standard does this model meet?

This model is declared as conforming to the EN 131 standard. EN 131 is the European standard for portable ladders. It sets out requirements and tests, for example for load capacity, stability and build quality.

The standard is no substitute for correct use: observe the maximum load of 150 kg, the safety label and the user instructions. Whether the ladder is permitted for a particular professional use depends on the regulations that apply there.

Can I return the ladder if it isn’t right for me?

Yes, if you are buying as a consumer. You have 14 days from receipt to notify us of your cancellation, and then a further 14 days to send the ladder back. Email contact@rungfield.com or use the ‘Cancel your contract’ form. You bear the cost of the return shipment.

You may examine the ladder as far as is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. If your use goes beyond that, you may have to pay compensation for the loss in value. You will find all the details in the cancellation policy.
